Kailua-Kona (dpa) – German triathlete Patrick Lange has won the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii for the third time. The 38-year-old completed the 3.86 kilometres of swimming, 180.2 kilometres of cycling and 42.2 kilometres of running in a track record time of 7:35:53 hours. He finished ahead of Magnus Ditlev from Denmark and Rodolphe van Berg from the US. Lange had already won the championship in Hawaii in 2017 and 2018. The women’s championship had already been won by German triathlete Laura Philipp in Nice in September.
