They announced the search for Jessica Parkinson, 29, had been called off just before 6pm on Thursday (5am Friday AEDT), saying she’d been found “safe and well”.
Until then, the last confirmed sighting of the 29-year-old Queenslander was at work in the south-east London district of Bermondsey, not far from Tower Bridge and Borough Market, on December 11.
She was reported missing just before midnight the following day.
Police earlier on Thursday said they believed she’d been in Eastbourne, on England’s south coast more than two and a half hours from the capital, on Wednesday night but didn’t confirm they’d tracked her down until later in the day.
Parkinson’s boss at Texas Joe’s Slow Smoked Meats, Joe Walters, also told 9News the family had been in contact with her.
Police in Sussex, the county that encompasses Eastbourne, had earlier said they were “very concerned” for Parkinson while London police said the disappearance was “out of character”.
