PADUCAH — The director of the McCracken County Office of Emergency Management has asked county residents to keep several factors in mind to stay safe and help the office respond to the winter storm slated for this weekend.
According to a news release from Director Rob Estes, the office anticipates four to six inches of snow accumulations.
The office asks residents to follow these tips:
- If possible, stay home and do not drive.
- Use caution while walking on icy surfaces to avoid slips and falls.
- Be alert for tree branches at risk of falling due to snow and ice accumulation.
- Take breaks during snow shoveling to avoid injury and heart stress.
- To facilitate snow plow activity, do not park vehicles on roads.
- Check on neighbors and pets.
“Enjoy watching the beauty of the snow falling from your home, where it’s safe,” the release said.
