Two people were found dead in a Lakeview alley Thursday morning and a third was taken to a hospital in critical condition, according to Chicago police.
Officers responded to a call of a “person down” in the 800 block of West Belmont Avenue about 6:45 a.m., where the three were found, said Officer Alex Aguas, a police spokesman.
Two males were dead on the scene, according to Aguas, while a 21-year-old woman was taken in critical condition to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
The deaths are believed to be possible drug overdoses, said Deputy District Chief Curtis Hudson, a spokesperson with the Chicago Fire Department, adding that there were no signs of trauma that he knows of.
The victims were found at 820 W. Belmont Ave., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Area 3 detectives are investigating.
