PADUCAH — After assessing the extended forecast data, WPSD-TV meteorologists have issued a Weather Authority Alert for this weekend.
Hot and humid air arrives by the weekend with air temperatures into the lower- to mid-90s, and the “Feels Like/Heat index” temperatures from 103 to 106 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. This is the hottest air of the year so far. Some folks may need cooling stations and hydration will be important.
Looking at forecast data, it’s possible the WAA will extend into the first of next week for a couple of days if the heat continues. Meteorologists will watch the next couple of model runs to see.
WPSD is issuing a WAA from 5 a.m. Friday until midnight on Sunday.
