Another tragedy unfolded in Minneapolis this past week, and the details are telling. Instead of an honest discussion about crime, violence, and the safety of our communities, we once again watched the media twist itself into knots to avoid offending the “protected classes” of today’s progressive culture. Who could’ve predicted that placating delusion and coddling mental instability would lead to unfettered violence?

The storyline is predictable: when a criminal fits a certain profile, the media blasts it across the headlines as proof of some larger cultural plague. But when the same violence comes from a person who identifies as transgender, or any group the Left views as untouchable, coverage is softer, excuses are offered, and the story fades from view much faster.
This is not about painting an entire community with a broad brush. It’s about the fact that the truth should not be held hostage by political correctness. Public safety should always come first, no matter who commits the crime. When ideology gets in the way of facts, people suffer.
The plain reality is this: violence is rising across America. From urban centers like Minneapolis and Chicago to smaller towns in Middle America, everyday people are experiencing spikes in assaults, robberies, and shootings. Yet, instead of dealing with the problem head on, our leaders often hide behind identity politics.
A criminal’s pronouns do not matter when they are holding a gun. Their “lived experience” doesn’t erase the trauma of their victims. And no amount of placating or ideological gymnastics will make our neighborhoods safer.
Law enforcement officers on the ground don’t have the luxury of filtering their calls through the lens of progressive talking points. They respond to victims. They confront real threats. They see firsthand the consequences of a society more concerned with not offending activists than with upholding law and order.
If you want proof of bias, just watch how headlines are written. When an act of violence is tied to someone who represents “the right,” the political angle leads the story. When the shooter or attacker represents a “protected” identity, the angle is softened: focus shifts to their struggles, their backstory, their supposed victimhood.
This isn’t compassion, it’s propaganda. And it’s dangerous. Because the message it sends is clear: some crimes are to be condemned loudly, others are to be quietly swept under the rug.
The Real Issue: A Culture of Excuses
Our society is drowning in excuses. Instead of holding individuals accountable for their actions, we are told to look at what might have “driven them” to violence. Poverty, oppression, misunderstanding, “lack of acceptance”, there’s always a narrative to absolve responsibility.
But justice requires truth. Safety requires courage. And leadership requires the willingness to look past ideological blinders. Until we reclaim the principle that wrong is wrong, no matter who commits it, we will continue to see violence rise while trust in our institutions collapses.
The citizens of Minneapolis, and every American city, deserve better. They deserve leaders who will confront crime without hesitation, journalists who will report the truth without spin, and a justice system that refuses to let ideology trump accountability.
Because when we start excusing violence in the name of identity politics, we’re not protecting anyone. We’re enabling chaos. And the ones who pay the price are always the innocent.
