Is there a problem in the Liberal Party that can’t be fixed by an old white guy?
Remember the Dutton-engineered intervention in the NSW Liberals, run by octogenarian Victorians Richard “Skeletor” Alston and Alan Stockdale, which peaked last June when Stockdale “jokingly” lamented the assertiveness of NSW Liberal women? The pair’s services were dispensed with shortly afterward.
Or there’s the reliance on parading John Howard around during flagging Liberal election campaigns, presumably to the confusion of a growing cohort of the electorate who would have no memory of even his last years in office, let alone his glory days of the early 2000s.
