A selection of recent work from illustrator Musubu Hagi. Based in Japan, Hagi creates artwork for book covers and magazines as well as gallery exhibitions. She often portrays scenes that “feel as though they exist in the corner of someone’s memory”. Characterized by her use of a variety of colour and the distinctive edges of watercolour, Hagi depicts figures and spaces while preserving a sense of ambiguity about their identities, settings, and emotions. This visual style gives the impression of viewing through a filter that allows the viewer to reflect on their own feelings and memories.
