Turkey reaches 1.845 million licensed drone pilots
Turkey’s registered UAV ecosystem is enormous and still growing.
As of August 28, the country had 1,845,456 licensed UAV pilots, while more than 237,000 people had sought drone pilot licenses during 2026.
That means authorities are operating in a country where drones are becoming extremely common.
A suspected drone crashes into a Turkish police station
A suspected UAV crashed into the courtyard of the Arsin District Police Department in Trabzon, damaging four police vehicles and shattering windows.
No one was injured, but authorities launched an investigation into where the drone came from.
So in the same month Turkey is expanding drone use, authorities are also dealing with the security problem created by drones.
