Konzern in der Krise: IG-Metall-Chefin wirft VW-Chef schwere Fehler vor

Vor einer Aufsichtsratssitzung über den Sparkurs bei Volkswagen wirft IG-Metall-Chefin Christiane Benner Konzernchef Oliver Blume schwere Fehler im Umgang mit der Belegschaft vor. Blume stelle sich mit der Ankündigung von Werkschließungen gegen Betriebsvereinbarungen und die historische Verantwortung des Konzerns, sagte Benner der «Augsburger Allgemeinen».

«Mit der IG Metall werden die Werke in Emden, Zwickau, Hannover und Neckarsulm nicht geschlossen», kündigte Benner Widerstand bei der Aufsichtsratssitzung an, die nach Medienberichten an diesem Freitag stattfinden soll. Die IG-Metall-Chefin gehört dem Kontrollgremium an und ist stellvertretende Aufsichtsratsvorsitzende.

Bei Volkswagen wird derzeit über weitere Sparmaßnahmen debattiert. Der laufende Arbeitsplatzabbau – 50.000 Stellen bis 2030 – reicht aus Sicht des Vorstands um Konzernchef Oliver Blume nicht aus. Im Raum steht der Abbau weiterer zehntausender Stellen. Die VW-Werke Emden, Hannover und Zwickau sowie das Audi-Werk Neckarsulm stehen auf der Kippe. Für sie gibt es laut Blume noch «keine wettbewerbsfähige Belegung für die 2030er-Jahre».

«Großer Fehler der VW-Führung»

«Es ist ein großer Fehler der VW-Führung, Werke in Emden, Zwickau, Hannover und Neckarsulm anzuzählen, 50.000 weitere Arbeitsplätze abbauen zu wollen und zugleich zu verkünden, die Umsatzrendite müsse von zuletzt 3,8 bis 2030 auf acht bis zehn Prozent steigen», betonte Benner. 

«Der Konzern kann die Werke in Emden und in Zwickau ebenso wenig wie Neckarsulm und Hannover schließen», sagte Benner. «Wir haben Ende 2024 eine Vereinbarung geschlossen, die der Vorstand unterschrieben hat und die er zu erfüllen hat», sagte die Gewerkschafterin. «Die Beschäftigten haben für Perspektiven auch auf Geld verzichtet», fügte sie hinzu.

IG-Metall-Chefin verweist auf gesellschaftliche Verantwortung

Zudem habe VW auch aus seiner Geschichte eine gesellschaftliche Verantwortung. «Die historische DNA des Konzerns ist, dass Wirtschaftlichkeit und Soziales in einem ausgewogenen Verhältnis stehen», betonte Benner. So sei die Region Ostfriesland wirtschaftlich stark vom VW-Werk in Emden abhängig. «Da hängen etwa 30.000 Arbeitsplätze dran», sagte sie. 

Auch Zwickau dürfe nicht geschlossen werden. Jeder vierte Arbeitsplatz in Ostdeutschland hänge von der Autoindustrie ab. VW müsse beide Werke mit neuen Modellen auslasten und neue Geschäftsmodelle für die Standorte finden.

«Die Vorgehensweise des VW-Vorstands macht mich wütend: Warum verunsichert das Management um Blume die Beschäftigten in Emden und Zwickau jetzt, obwohl wir reichlich Zeit haben, Perspektiven für die beiden Standorte zu entwickeln?», sagte Benner. 

Benner: Blume hat für Konfusion gesorgt

Benner warf Blume gegenüber Beschäftigten und Öffentlichkeit eine verfehlte Kommunikationspolitik vor: «Die war bislang schlecht, denn es wurden einfach weitere Abbauzahlen und Werkschließungen in den Raum gestellt. Dabei haben wir schon 2024 vereinbart, dass 50.000 Stellen ohne betriebsbedingte Kündigungen sozialverträglich abgebaut werden.» 

Blume habe stattdessen für Konfusion gesorgt, weil viele glaubten, VW wolle noch einmal 100.000 Jobs streichen. «Die VW-Kommunikationspolitik hat Mitarbeitende in Emden und Zwickau belastet und drückt sicher auf die Arbeitsmoral, zumal sich viele Beschäftigte nur noch fragen, wann sie das Unternehmen verlassen müssen», kritisierte die Gewerkschafterin.
