Beach Anse Boudin Praslin is a less known beach on Praslin island in the Seychelles.
Locals frequent this tranquil beach known for its clear waters and snorkeling opportunities.
Beach Anse Boudin is located in the NorthEast of the Praslin island between the famous Anse Lazio and Anse Takamaka (the Raffles hotel location).

What you need to know about beach Anse Boudin Praslin
A part of the Anse Boudin beach is right next to the main road making it easy to get to by local buses.
If renting a car, a small parking lot on the road bend behind the Notre Dame de Sacre Coeur Chapel allows you to park near the beach. From there a paved path leads to the beach.
Anse Boudin is mostly popular among locals which means that on week days during the day it is NOT crowded at all.
Most probably you’d see more locals and less tourists on the beach Anse Boudin Praslin.
There’s no infrastructure along the beach. The official website described it as a fishing bay, with small shops and life. In reality, there are just a few boats. The beach is quite long but with no shops and no restaurants right along the beach.
You need to be careful when swimming there – Anse Boudin is rocky and water can be shallow so sometimes not safe for swimming. But of course it depends on the tides so use your common sense, please.
There was little seaweed on the beach when I visited in April 2026, but a lot more when I went back in June 2026.
The water is blue, but there can be strong waves and currents. The sea is full of large pieces of corals that can hurt your feet when the waves hit you. So please, pay attention.
There are tree branches and trunks along the beach giving you interesting photo opportunities.

Beach Anse Boudin is a lot less crowded than the popular Anse Lazio, but just as beautiful. I felt like Robinson Crusoe washed up alone on the beach.
You might get lucky to observe a lot of crabs running around the Anse Boudin beach.
TIP: At the end of Anse Boudin towards Anse Takamaka, you need to visit Smoon island with Dolphin Rock on its right. As it’s just a few metres from the beach, you can walk there at low tide. It’s just a bunch of boulders but great for photos. But there’s annoying sand flies that bite like crazy.

Beach Anse Boudin Praslin cons
Some people would say that ”you can give this beach a pass.” Some tourists visit beach Anse Boudin and end up leaving as soon as they find out that swimming is impossible.
Once I saw a naked man there on the Anse Boudin beach. It was getting dark at sunset time and he was further from me. He looked like a local but I am not really sure. He did nothing, went back for a swim and then back to the beach. While I was walking along the beach back and forth, he would just sit there close to the trees.
But it was unexpected because public nudity in the Seychelles is NOT common and (un)officially not allowed either.
And in one of the FB groups about Seychelles I saw a post about a female tourist complaining about an unpleasant experience she had with a local teenager on Anse Boudin beach. She wrote: ”a local teenager standing at the foot of the chapel opposite the beach shouted at me to come and sleep with him. Seeing that I wasn’t paying attention to his expectations, he started stripping himself. I then turned to a couple of tourists so as not to be alone in this situation of insecurity. Of course he ran away, once he saw I wasn’t alone.”

Anse Boudin final thoughts
If I were you, I’d go to beach Anse Boudin at least once when visiting Praslin. It’s not as stunning as some other beaches on Praslin, but if you are craving for more peace and less people, then this might be a good beach option for you. Bring water and food with you, check the tides and be careful when swimming there.
I would recommend going to beach Anse Boudin for a peaceful walk on a week day.
It’s a great beach, not crowded, beautiful… You won’t spend the day there but it’s worth the visit at least once!
If you’re looking for authenticity on Praslin, this is the place to be.
