One person has died after a serious crash in Te Hapara, Gisborne on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the crash involving a car and a cyclist on Lytton Road about 3pm.
One person was transported to hospital in a critical condition. They have since died.
The road was closed on Saturday evening while the Serious Crash Unit conducts a scene examination, but would reopen shortly.
Motorists are advised to follow diversions and expect delays.
