Hungary has granted licences for Russia’s Rosatom to build two new reactors at its Paks nuclear power plant, reports Reuters. The Hungarian Nuclear Energy Authority on Thursday said the existing Russian-built 2-gigawatt plant at Paks can be expanded with two new reactors. Critics say Hungary’s prime minister Viktor Orban has been cosying up to Russia’s president Vladimir Putin even as Russia wages a war in Ukraine.
