Anyyone who thought it would be one-way traffic at Barossa Park has been given a rude shock.

It’s the Kangaroos  ahead at the main change, leaving the Lions to reflect on their missed opportunities in the second quarter.

It didn’t take long for the Demons to find a reply.

Bayley Fritsch, making his return to the Dees’ senior line-up, created separation from Jacob Farrow to mark inside 50.

He kicked the goal to cut the Bombers’ lead to two points.

Edwards did well to make sure he was unmarked inside the attacking 50, giving the Bombers a target.

He marked and then nailed the shot on goal to give the Bombers an early lead.

The Lions grab the opening goal of the second quarter after the Kangaroos are pinged for holding the ball inside their defensive 50.

Allen’s set-shot effort reduces the Kangaroos’ lead to five points.

Drainage at venues such as Adelaide Oval is amazing these days, but the match load coupled with the weather will pose a challenge when it comes to the playing surface.

At least it’s not like the days when the sprinklers would be turned on at Moorabbin Oval ahead of matches in the hope of creating a mud bath.

The Kangaroos have leapt into the lead after following up Cooper Trembath’s opening goal with another two majors.

First it was Jack Darling, then it was Zac Banch’s turn, helping put the Kangaroos in front by five points.

He had a regulation shot on goal, which he nailed with ease.
