Bombers strike early
Jade Gresham gives the Bombers a positive start to the second term.
A poor clearance from the Suns inside their defensive 50 was pounced upon by the Bombers.
The ball transferred through various sets of hands, before Jordan Ridley stabbed a kick to find Gresham inside the 50.
Gresham completed the assignment for the Bombers to reduce the Suns’ advantage on the scoreboard.
Play resumes at Carrara
It’s an eight-point lead the Suns are holding over the Bombers as we make a start to the second quarter.
Who’ll be on top at the main break?
Long goes back to back
Ben Long kicks his second goal, not long after nailing his first of the match.
Suns up by eight points.
Suns in front!
Ben Long joins the goal-kickers list, with the Suns’ fourth of the afternoon.
They now lead by two points in the shadows of quarter-time.
Suns find their range
After highlighting the Suns’ wasted chances …
The home side respond through Ben King, who kicked with impressive accuracy from a set-shot opportunity.
King marked on the lead, before cutting back the Bombers’ lead to four points with his first major of the match.
Suns waste chances
As we approach quarter-time, the Suns have failed to convert on some goal opportunities.
Consecutive minor scores to Mac Andrew and Ben Long has the Suns trailing by 10.
It’s a shoot-out on the Coast!
Young Bomber Isaac Kako positioned himself well inside the attacking 50 to mark the ball for the visitors, before slotting the set-shot.
Again, the Bombers’ goal came from the outstanding defensive pressure they’re applying to the Suns.
Can they maintain it?
Suns get a goal back
The Bombers didn’t have long to celebrate their latest goal, with Jed Walter replying for the Suns almost immediately.
Walter’s major cuts the Bombers’ advantage to five points.
It’s the Bombers again!
A fantastic team goal from the Bombers!
Xavier Duursma takes difficult mark on the run after he set himself up as a target inside the attacking 50, making it easier for Nate Caddy to land the ball with his teammate.
Going around the corner, Duursma made no mistake with his shot on the sticks, giving the Bombers an 11-point lead.
Bombers respond
The Bombers are back in front via an Archer May goal.
May took a brilliant contested mark deep inside the attacking 50 before nailing the set-shot.
But the origins of this goal came from a great tackle upfield from Sam Durham, who gave the Bombers possession from which they could attack.
Welcome back Christian!
After a spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, Christian Petracca has made a stunning return already.
Petracca confidently launched from just outside the arc to kick the Suns’ first goal of the match.
He had managed an earlier behind, so its the Suns leading 1.1 to 1.0 early in the opening term.
A sight for sore Suns eyes!

Not long to go!

As per program …

After snaping a 17-match losing streak with their convincing 45-point victory over the Demons in Gather Round, the Bombers are in an upbeat mood.
The 17th-placed Dons have made one change to their winning line-up, with Saad El-Hawli earning a call-up.
Jaxon Prior is being managed.
Ins and Outs: Suns

We’re not far away from a start at Carrara, with the sixth-placed Suns facing the buoyant Bombers, who are coming off their first win of the season.
The Suns had to lick their wounds following a 32-point defeat to the Swans in Gather Round but they welcome back some massive ‘ins’ for today’s encounter.
Christian Petracca (injury) and Bailey Humphrey (suspension) both return, while Oscar Adams and Jake Rogers have also been named.
The Suns will be without skipper Noah Anderson (illness), while Lachie Gulbin, Alex Davies and Sam Clohesy have been omitted.
