As two of the prime time players in LeBron James and Kevin Durant are getting nearer in reaching the twilight stage of their respective careers, the NBA will certainly look at some promising young stars to become their new ambassadors.
When he was asked if he can take over the league’s helm following the reign of both James and Durant, Anthony Edwards can only shrug off with sky high confidence towards his god-given intangibles (h/t Complex’s Zion Olojede).
“Oh yeah, 100 percent. Sure. I mean it comes with time and it comes with work and dedication. I feel like I got all three of those things and I feel like it’s going to take me over the top.”
Currently at 20 years of age, there is no doubt that the potential of Edwards is off the charts.
In only his second year with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he already pulled off an average of 21.3 points, 4.8 boards and 3.8 assists and 44 percent efficiency, jumping towards improvement in all of these given numbers from his rookie year.
Upon trading for Rudy Gobert, the T-Wolves are poised for contention. But the sustainability of their immense power would literally swing on Edwards’s progress and all-time talent.
