Auckland’s northwestern motorway closes in both directions after Whenuapai truck crash

Part of Auckland’s Northwestern motorway remains closed in both directions while a truck that crashed into a median barrier is removed.

Police said the section between Hobsonville and Brigham Creek Roads would stay closed until the debris had been taken away.

Diversions are in place.

Police said a truck collided with a barrier on the west bound lanes on State Highway 16 at about 8.40am, just before the Brigham Creek Road roundabout.

Emergency services were still tending to the driver at the scene, police said.

Police said the crash had left debris on opposite lanes and traffic heading towards the city on State Highway 16 was also being impacted.

Police asked motorists to use an alternative route if possible.
