A 27-year-old Brampton man is accused of going on a wild crime spree earlier this week that police say included a stabbing, home invasion and attempted carjackings.

Peel Regional Police said officers responded at approximately 10 p.m. last Sunday to the area of Clockwork Dr. and Creditview Rd. in Brampton for reports of a robbery.

“During the incident, a male suspect attempted to carjack a vehicle while the owner was seated inside,” police said in news release. “The victim was stabbed before the suspect fled the area on foot.”

Police said the victim was transported to a local trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

Cops allege the suspect then went to a nearby residence where he kicked in the front door and demanded keys to a vehicle, but was unsuccessful and fled the home. He then attempted to carjack two additional vehicles in the area but failed.

The suspect was identified by investigators on Monday and a search warrant was used at a Brampton address, cops said.

ARREST AFTER PEDESTRIAN SERIOUSLY INJURED

A 52-year-old Toronto man is facing several charges after a woman was seriously injured while walking in a pedestrian crossover in Toronto’s west end last month.

Toronto Police said officers responded shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 26 to a fail to remain personal injury collision in the Lansdowne and Brandon Aves. area, north of Dupont St.

Police allege a 34-year-old woman was crossing Lansdowne Ave. at the signalized pedestrian crossover at Brandon Ave. while the driver of a five-door white hatchback was travelling southbound on Lansdowne Ave.

According to police, the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed when the driver hit the pedestrian while she was walking under the signalized crossover.

The woman suffered serious injuries while the driver did not remain at the scene.

Cops said the vehicle they alleged was involved in the hit-and-run incident was located two days later with help from the public.

On Friday, police announced the accused turned himself into custody and was arrested and charged with failing to stop at a scene of an accident causing bodily harm and obstructing justice as well as Highway Traffic Act offences of careless driving causing bodily harm or death and driving a motor vehicle with no licence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-1900.
