Ecostore and City Cleaning Services have launched a new campaign to recognise Thank Your Cleaner Day.
Championed by Building Service Contractors of New Zealand, Thank Your Cleaner Day is commemorated on October 14 and celebrates the professional cleaners who help keep our spaces clean and safe.
Running from October 12 to 14, the campaign features real staff from City Cleaning Services on selected billboards across Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington, as well as on social media. The campaign also shares a message of thanks from ecostore for all the mahi cleaners do behind the scenes.

A public thank you
Ecostore CEO Pablo Kraus says they wanted to celebrate the day in acknowledgement of a workforce that doesn’t often get the kudos it deserves.
“Cleaners are often working away in the background while everyone goes about their day, or head into offices, public spaces and transport hubs well after the last staff member has left for the evening, diligently cleaning, scrubbing and resetting for tomorrow.”
The billboards across Auckland will run from later afternoon into the evening, with the intention that cleaning staff heading to or from work will have the best chance of seeing the thank you message.
City Cleaning Services CEO Graeme Clarke says people are the most important part of the business.
“Thank Your Cleaner Day is a really big day for us – I think it should be every day, but it’s awesome to have a day dedicated to acknowledging the important role cleaners play and we’re grateful for partners like ecostore who recognise this and want to celebrate alongside us.”
Kraus says Thank Your Cleaner Day has a special place in his heart. “My oma was a cleaner and she inadvertently played a huge role in our family becoming part of ecostore. When my dad came across the company, it was a ‘eureka’ moment – the plant-based formulas were something he wished would have been around when oma was working with cleaning products every day.”
