The TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards organisers, NZ Marketing magazine and NZ Marketing Association, are delighted to unveil the finalists for this year’s competition following the successful completion of round one judging.
The roster of finalists for this year’s awards showcases renowned brands such as Cookie Time, Kiwibank, Lion Breweries, J.H Whittaker & Sons, McDonalds, Spark, among others. For the full list of finalists refer below or please click here.
John Miles, Chief Executive of the Marketing Association said: “It is great to see the marketing industry continuing to show its strength with a record number of entries this year across the 29 categories. We can’t wait to showcase the best of New Zealand marketing and award 31 winners in a full house at Spark Arena this September.
Experienced convenor of judges Michael Friedberg, CEO at Swaytech led the team of judges in a thorough evaluation process. “Faced with the substantial number of entries, we increased our judging pool by 20 percent and it’s not surprising that this year’s judges invested considerable time and effort to meticulously curate a list of finalists that truly embodies the pinnacle of marketing excellence in the country in what I would call loud, serious with great camaraderie judging days,” said Michael.
“The quality of the entries was also very high, both in terms of how they were written, and the content included. In particular clear articulation of “why” and the insights that drove the single idea. Judging was made simpler this year with the introduction of a new rubric, which helped to align judges on what scores good (and bad) the entries should receive,” said Michael.
Michael continues, “As businesses continue to feel the bite from the global slowdown, I find it refreshing to see so many outstanding examples of marketing delivering business outcomes.”
