FizzyPop, a specialist digital agency, has teamed up with Modica Group, a provider of SMS services, and the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council to introduce a text-to-donate platform for the Hawke’s Bay Disaster Relief Trust.
This service allows individuals to donate $3.00 to the Trust by sending a text message to the number 2923. All contributions will be utilised for disaster relief initiatives following the aftermath of Cyclone Gabriel.
Working with the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, FizzyPop and Modica Group were able to quickly set up the text to donate service, which was launched in market on Thursday, April 6th. The service is being promoted by local businesses throughout Hawke’s Bay, and both FizzyPop and Modica Group have waived any fees associated with setting up the system.
“We’re proud to be a part of this important initiative to help support disaster relief efforts in our community,” says Tom Young, Director at FizzyPop. “By partnering with Modica Group and the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, we were able to leverage our collective expertise to create a simple and effective text to donate service that will make it easy for people to contribute to the cause.”
Clare Hollings, Team Lead Digital Communications at Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, added: “We’re grateful to FizzyPop and Modica Group for their professionalism and expertise in helping us set up this important service. The text to donate service will enable us to raise much-needed funds for disaster relief efforts, and we couldn’t have done it without their support.”
Stuart Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Modica Group, says: “We’re delighted to have worked with FizzyPop and the Hawke’s Bay Regional Council on this project to help people in difficult times. Our SMS donations service is part of our broader range of Communication Platform as a Service solutions and is designed to be a simple and effective community engagement tool. We are always proud to play a role in helping to make a positive impact on our local communities.”
