General Daily Insight for February 13, 2024 – New York Daily News

General Daily Insight for February 13, 2024

Conflict can take on a new face at any moment. Aggressive Mars moves into dogmatic Aquarius at 1:05 am EST, arming us to passionately defend our viewpoints. As peacemaker Venus supports high-minded Neptune, we might still hope to keep up an appearance of decorum. We may think it’s possible for arguments to follow reasonable rules. When the itchy Aries Moon joins forces with touchy Chiron, however, our primal impulses are likely to overpower our lofty ideals. Well, hopefully the tension is better out than in!

Aries

March 21 – April 19

You may currently feel like you need to prove yourself to your peers. As competitive Mars races into your social sector, every little thing seems to be a comparison or a contest! That said, your insecurities are probably heightened at the moment too, making it hard to sort out which provocations are truly coming from anyone else. Although it’s possible for your internal conflict to spur your ambition in a good way, you’re better off at least knowing what you’re doing.

Taurus

April 20 – May 20

Pushing for an ambitious goal is encouraged by the universe. Perhaps some of your motivation comes from a personal trauma that you normally don’t share, and you’re not required to tell the whole story to your peers. As pleasant Venus in your optimistic 9th house supports vague Neptune in your social sector, you may prefer to keep things sunny by highlighting the happier aspects of your project. The important thing is to get the job done, so say what’s necessary to make that happen.

Gemini

May 21 – June 20

Perceived judgment from your peers may currently stress you out. It might seem to focus on you having the wrong political or spiritual views. In truth, there’s potentially nothing you could do to make these people happy — they’re likely in a bad place for reasons not necessarily related to you. If you still feel like you must do something, direct your efforts toward being a soothing presence instead of defending yourself. Don’t feed conflict that they’re not interested in resolving.

Cancer

June 21 – July 22

Asserting yourself may presently provoke a disapproving response from an authority figure. While individualistic Mars charges into your 8th House of Boundaries, you’re probably looking to increase the amount of freedom in your life. However, it’s not likely to just be handed to you. Undergoing a guilt trip could suck the joy out of your efforts. No matter how good your intentions are, you can’t always make everyone happy in the moment. If you maintain a positive attitude, though, perhaps they’ll come around later.

Leo

July 23 – August 22

You may want closeness now, but it’s probably hard for anyone to live up to your standards! You’ve possibly developed rigid ideas about the way relationships should look in order to protect yourself. Still, these beliefs could be blocking you from understanding what the people around you have to offer. As rough Mars blusters into your 7th House of Partnerships, someone might approach you in a way you don’t initially find appealing. Question your prejudices — there’s potentially more to the story.

Virgo

August 23 – September 22

You’re presently capable of getting a lot of work done. Although you might have a lot of pride in what you accomplish as determined Mars barrels into your responsible 6th house, perhaps you’re also a little resentful that you have to do everything yourself. On the other hand, is that assumption based on outdated information? Ask the people who are around you now to pull their weight — you won’t necessarily receive the same response you got from others who let you down in the past.

Libra

September 23 – October 22

You could presently be motivated to pursue what makes you happy. However, receiving a discouraging reaction from someone else might cause you concern about proceeding further. Try to identify what their issue is — and whether it’s even their issue. Perhaps they’ve volunteered themselves to carry a piece of your own internal conflict! Having the courage to embrace pleasure isn’t always easy, especially when there are other important things going on. Even so, don’t make it harder than it needs to be.

Scorpio

October 23 – November 21

Taking charge in your domestic environment could currently ruffle a few feathers. As ambitious Mars bursts into your 4th House of Home, you can see clearly what needs to be done. If it’s more than you’re capable of doing on your own, you believe that you deserve help from others. That might all be true, but the way you make your request will influence the response you receive. Keep your ego out of it by focusing on how everyone will benefit.

Sagittarius

November 22 – December 21

Saying your piece could seem critical now. As the sensitive Moon meets suffering Chiron in your expressive 5th house, it’s possible that you’re drawn to tell others about an incident where you were harmed in some way. Keep in mind that giving the impression of aggressively blaming another party for all your problems might turn off some listeners. Focus on your emotional experience and how it affected the trajectory of your life, then allow your audience to draw their own conclusions regarding who caused what.

Capricorn

December 22 – January 19

Making more money could currently be a high priority for you. While the sentimental Moon commiserates with wounded Chiron in your 4th House of Roots, you’re increasingly motivated by a desire to compensate for something you lacked when you were growing up. You may envy others who seem to move through life with greater ease. Appearances can be deceiving, but you might as well try to achieve the look you want anyway — see if it makes you feel any better.

Aquarius

January 20 – February 18

You’re a force to reckon with today! As potent Mars powers into your sign, you could serve as a lightning rod for all kinds of conflict. When provoked, you might talk back in an especially cutting way. Ask yourself if that’s the only way asserting yourself can go. Perhaps you feel backed into a corner, but you probably have more space than you think to consider different options. Focus on your long game instead of pushing to win every minor battle.

Pisces

February 19 – March 20

A subversive approach might seem necessary in the moment. While pushy Mars sneaks into your 12th House of Secrets, you may be tempted to take action behind someone else’s back. Trying to guilt yourself out of it probably won’t help. Maybe you feel like you can’t live according to your values and still accomplish what you need to do, which hurts in its own way. The limitations you perceive can be real, but look at whether the situation is really as urgent as it feels.
