People often ask me for advice on what to do and what to see beyond the “classic multi-visited” touristic destinations of Venice.
Sometimes it is difficult to talk about the things we love most, and the same accounts for me as a long-time inhabitant of Venice.
Talking about one of the most known cities in the world for its beauty, romanctic atmoshphere and incredible structure is difficult for those who have lived intensely there for several years.
On the other hand it is necessary to let people know its beauty, especially in a period in which the city is recovering from the post-pandemic tourism crisis.
All this tourism, obviously, with due respect for the case, maintaining a behavior of “conscious tourism”. This counts especially for Venice, which is a city in Italy that, not surprisingly, is defined as “As beautiful as it is fragile”.
Here is a short guide for those who want to orient themselves not only among the most famous and symbolic places of the lagoon, walking and admiring the city among its streets and canals, but also visiting “bacari”, restaurants and museums which, for those who do not usually know the city as a “local“, it would be difficult to meet.

For those who didn’t know, Venice is divided into six districts (respectively: Dorsoduro, Santa Croce, San Polo, San Marco, Cannaregio and Castello), then adding Giudecca.
