Kelsey Grammer is set to star in a new drama in his first major TV role since the Frasier revival.

Kelsey Grammer is making his TV return

The 71-year-old actor, who reprised his role as Frasier Crane for a two season run across 2023 and 2024, has reportedly signed on for a new NBC series called Pops.

According to Deadline, the new show has entered development with Grammer on board to star and executive produce.

The show, which is being penned by longtime Chicago Med writer and producer Danny Weiss, is based on the true story of Ed Levien, who retired from advertising and became a volunteer EMT in his 60s.

Pops, which takes its title from the nickname Ed got from his younger colleagues, will tell the story of a man aged out of his successful career as he joins first responders half is age in a bid for a fresh start.

The show marks a return to NBC for Grammer, who spent more than two decades on the network as Frasier Crane across Cheers, Frasier and Wings.

He later reprised the role for Paramount+’s revival.

Meanwhile, Grammer is set to reprise his role of Dr. Henry ‘Hank’ McCoy in Avengers: Doomsday.

Meanwhile, the actor recently admitted he has “wrestled with” the idea of running for office as it will fulfil his sense of service to the US after not being chosen to serve in the Vietnam War despite having registered for the draft.

Over the summer, he told Us Weekly: “I would consider it. It would possibly tick that box for me, in terms of the service I feel I should have given to my fellow man – to my fellow countrymen – that I missed in the military.

“Maybe that would be the way to do it. I have wrestled with it.”

However, Kelsey’s ambitions are on hold as he wants to be present for his eight children.

He said: “I have a young family. I don’t want to be an absentee dad, so I put it on hold a little bit, but I do intend to live for quite a while.”

But he is open to entering politics later in life.

Grammer added: “I’m still pretty vital, and numbers may tell one story that maybe most people wouldn’t understand…

“I’m vital and prepared to stay that way for quite a while, and yes, it’s likely I will at least throw my hat in the ring in some way.”

Clear examples do more than decorate an explanation: they show how an idea behaves under recognizable conditions. In education and software documentation alike, strong illustrations begin with a defined goal, then reveal the steps, assumptions, and result without unnecessary detail. A practical test example should state the input, expected output, and boundary condition, because these elements show whether a rule works beyond the simplest case. Including a contrasting case also helps readers distinguish a valid application from a tempting but incorrect one, while concise notes explain why the outcomes differ. When examples are updated with current data and checked against the underlying rule, they remain useful across classrooms, product guides, and professional training.
