Leakers battle over whether third iPhone 18 Pro color will be silver or black

Based on a whole succession of leaks, there’s a clear consensus view on two of the three colors we can expect when the iPhone 18 Pro is unveiled next week.

But two prominent leakers have different expectations when it comes to whether the third colour will be silver or black …

All of the leaks so far present a consistent view of two of the colours expected, even if the exact shade of the purple one remains somewhat uncertain:

• Dark Cherry/Burgundy
• Sky Blue

But there have been conflicting reports about whether the third color will be silver or black, and two high-profile leakers are taking opposite sides on the debate.

Black …

Just yesterday, Fixed Focus Digital said that the third color will be black, and that silver will “most likely” not be included in the line-up. Fans of silver can take comfort from the fact that the Sky Blue color is likely to be the same extremely subtle one used for the iPhone Air and MacBook Air, which looks far more like silver in most lighting.

If true, that will make a lot of people very happy, as many were disappointed at the lack of black or space grey options in the iPhone 17 Pro lineup.

However, while Sonny Dickson doesn’t directly contradict the claim, he has responded by posting a photo purporting to show the SIM tray covers for each of three colours, the third of which is silver. He has previously shared images that include a black version, but now says that he hasn’t come across this in recent months.
