LeBron didn’t even have to do anything to make Dillon Brooks look foolish

Before LeBron James stepped onto the court for the first time in a regular-season game with the Philadelphia 76ers, Dillon Brooks took his hatred for the superstar to a new level in a Kalshi ad. He promoted the “King Blocker 9000,” which is meant to block mentions of the superstar from your television.

The advertisement for the fake product appeared on a billboard in New York City, where James resides, and where he got his first win with the Sixers a few hours later.

Hilarious, right?

As a Sixers fan, you might’ve laughed, because it is kind of funny that Brooks keeps finding ways to top his own hatred for LeBron. He sat courtside, laughing like an evil villain, as the Thunder swept James and the Lakers in Game 4 of the 2026 semifinals. Of course, that was after Oklahoma City swept Phoenix in the first round, which is why Brooks was there in the first place.

And now, here Brooks is, taking his disdain for the superstar to Kalshi for a paycheck (and you can think what you want about that).

LeBron is the least of Dillon Brooks’ worries

What is funny about all of this is that, roughly 36 hours after the ad dropped, the Suns were blown out by the Trail Blazers, 124-83, in their season opener. It was so bad that Devin Booker admitted “everything went wrong” for Phoenix and called the loss a “wake-up call” for the team—a wake-up call in their first game of the season.

If that’s any indication as to how things will go for the Suns this season, the next six months will feel like an eternity.

Phoenix fans would probably rather turn on their televisions and hear LeBron’s name nonstop than watch whatever it was Brooks and their favorite team did on Wednesday night. They’d have been better off watching the Sixers spoil the Knicks’ championship celebration, instead of wasting three hours watching Portland make Phoenix look like a junior varsity team.

We all know Brooks will never reach James’s level. It’s quite possible that no player ever will, as long as the NBA exists. But for whatever reason, Brooks is committed to poking that bear. At this point, he’s doing it purely for the love of the game. It’s not just an act.

LeBron doesn’t need to give Brooks the time of day. In this case, he didn’t have to do anything for Brooks to look silly (again), with the Suns already in disarray after one game.

If only there were a way for Kalshi to invent a product that would let basketball fans avoid being subjected to a Phoenix game when surfing TV channels. Now, that might actually be worth something.
