Lil Wayne and his son, Kameron Carter, made quite the impression on the red carpet at the 2022 ESPY Awards this past Wednesday (Jul. 20). The rapper and his son walked the red carpet in style at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Kameron wore a Fendi t-shirt with joggers that matched his dad’s casual attire. Accessories brought swagger to Lil Wayne’s outfit. The rapper wore several necklaces while his son wore a chain with a cross attached to it.
Kameron is Lil Wayne’s son with Lauren London. The actress recently spoke with Angie Martinez about Kam’s potential career ambitions. “Kam raps really well,” London shared. “But I don’t know if he wants to do it,” Lauren admitted. “I think it comes easy for him. He freestyles like crazy. He can make his own songs. He’s really good with numbers and Math. He wants to be a finance guy. He loves numbers.”
Kameron loves numbers and has his eyes set on a career in finance. Still, the youngster loves to see his mom working in show business.
“Kam loves when I go to work,” Lauren London told Angie Martinez. “He’s like, ‘You’re going to work? You got a job?’ I’m like, ‘Somebody please give me a job for him.’ He loves when I’m at work because it makes him feel like our old life. It makes him feel like, ‘She’s moving, [and] life is happening.’”
Lauren London and her kids, Kameron and Kross, have been on a journey for a new sense of normalcy since the death of Lauren’s longtime boyfriend, Nipsey Hussle. The rapper was killed by a former acquaintance in 2019. Nipsey was visiting his store in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles when his former friend shot him. Lauren held a public memorial for her late partner weeks after his death.
Several murals were created throughout the city to serve as tributes to Nipsey Hussle. The memorials, while beautiful, are part of the reason why Lauren London wants to move out of Los Angeles.
“I love L.A. It’s tattooed on me,” Lauren told Angie. “To the death of me, I love L.A., but it’s too heavy for me right now,” London admitted. “I’m staying put right now,” the actress assured. “I just don’t think it’s like a good time for the rest of our family that loves us and wants to make sure they have a close eye on us.”
