LSU dominates Mississippi State 31-0 in Death Valley. Sam Leavitt went 31-of-38 for 289 yards, 4 touchdowns and no interceptions while playing through a hamstring injury. In this LSU Tigers postgame show, we break down the shutout, Lane Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr.’s play calling, and what it means for LSU’s playoff path after Texas lost to Florida.
We cover Jackson Harris’s 2-touchdown day and his injury (he came out in a boot), Dylan Jones’s 142 total yards as the backbone of the offense, Jordan Ross’s sacks, Ty Benefield’s interception, and DJ Pickett and PJ Woodland’s big plays on defense. We also discuss the Stacey Gage fumble review that LSU should have won, the SEC officiating problems, Greg Sankey, and why teams will keep running counter at Blake Baker’s defense. Plus, a look ahead to LSU at Auburn, the bye week, and Alabama.
LSU now heads into a must-win road game at Auburn chasing its first road win in almost two years. Can the Tigers still get to 9-3 and into the College Football Playoff?
