Meet the smartwatch that puts medical-grade blood pressure monitoring on your wrist

Hypertension carries health risks, including heart attacks and strokes, but often slips through the cracks as it has no signs or symptoms, known as the “silent killer”. Smart tech can flag health issues early so we have greater awareness of what’s going on within our bodies. When it comes to health monitoring and measuring blood pressure, Huawei is at the forefront of that innovation with exciting new developments in its tech.

What you might not know is that an inflatable cuff is the only clinically accepted method for taking your blood pressure. But many smartwatches use a different method: optical sensors that measure pulse waves and alert you to the fact that your blood pressure might be worth investigating. Huawei’s Watch D3 is an exciting watch that features a medical-grade inflatable air cuff that actually monitors your blood pressure while inflating against the wrist. This not only allows for accurate and reliable results, but also continuous data collection, which can monitor fluctuations caused by lifestyle changes, including stress or sleep. Instead of a snapshot, the Huawei Watch D3 gives a fuller, accurate picture.

The Watch D3’s other health and wellbeing and also features health alerts which you can share with friends and loved ones, and even your GP.

Innovation in health and fitness tech can be as much about refining hardware as about new features and precision. Blending seamlessly into everyday life, the Watch D3 is slim, light, and designed to be comfortable for everyday wear.

Huawei

Most of us want a fitness tracker that can enhance our lives and provide valuable insight without getting in the way. We don’t want to be hindered by it, and that’s exactly the idea behind the Huawei Watch D3. The new model is thinner, now measuring just 11.3mm, and lighter, at only 40g. Easier to wear no matter what you’re doing, the watch has been redesigned to be more subtle and unobtrusive.

Fitness tech is on the wrist near-constantly, and so the new design is also geared towards improved comfort for all-day, everyday wear. The display is another design change here. The bright 1.92in AMOLED display means a higher screen-to-body ratio, which clearly shows what the watch has to offer no matter the light conditions.

Taking inspiration from the colours of nature, the watch is available in black, white or a warm-hued mocha gold.

Round-the-clock monitoring

Particularly for those looking to better understand their blood pressure trends through the day and night, with reports that can easily be shared with healthcare professionals, the hero feature of the watch is its medical-grade blood pressure monitoring technology. With European CE-MDR medical certification, the innovative inflatable airbag cuff technology delivers wrist-based blood pressure monitoring with accuracy. Using compression and precise sensing, the sensor inflates against the skin, but now with minimal skin contact for a less noticeable feel.

The result is that it allows for ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) taken at intervals across 24 hours, which shows how blood pressure changes over time.

Huawei

The Huawei Watch D3 is about taking a smarter, considered approach to fitness. For example, the new pre- and post-exercise blood pressure measurements give a clearer picture of how ready your body is for a workout. Particularly helpful for those more susceptible to the risks of high-intensity exercise, this allows more confidence when you want to push for a new PB, but also helps you know when to take a slower pace.

Checking post-exercise blood pressure measurements then helps you understand how your body recovers after intensive exercise, giving a clearer picture of your fitness and helping to track it over time, too. An invaluable tool in any fitness arsenal.

Proactively letting you know which metrics are best to check at any one time, the watch acts like a companion constantly looking out for your wellbeing. It might, for instance, remind you to check your blood pressure when the temperature changes. In effect, it guides you to the most important readings when they might matter most.

The new Huawei Watch D3 is compatible with both iOS and Android. Customers who purchase the Watch D3 between 23 September 2026 and 22 September 2027 will also receive 10 months of Bupa Well+ health services, worth £200, including Digital GP appointments, physiotherapy support, mental health support, and fitness and wellbeing resources.

Of course there’s much more to it than blood pressure and fitness monitoring. Huawei’s Watch D3, as you’d expect from a market-leading device, is holistic and measures a wealth of health and wellbeing metrics, from emotional wellbeing to sleep quality.

If you’re looking for a quick snapshot of these, then the Health Glance, which quickly measures 11 health metrics, including stress, skin temperature, lung function and more, makes it easy to scan your results in graphs and charts.

When you want to delve deeper into what these results could actually mean for you, and what to do with them, that’s when Health Insights comes in, as it offers advice based on your results. Meanwhile, the Huawei Health Community in the Huawei app makes it possible to share and monitor health data across family and friends, which can be especially helpful for providing peace of mind around the wellbeing of loved ones.

Use discount code ASTANDARD20 to get £20 off the Huawei Watch D3 when purchasing through the Huawei Store. This is valid from 23rd September to 3rd November.

Introducing the Huawei Watch G7 with enhanced sports tracking

Huawei continues to pioneer in sports tech with the Huawei Watch G7, which launched with a battery life of up to 21 days. And, in an industry-first for snow sports, there’s wrist-based turn detection and G-Force detection for skiing, and an indoor snow sports mode and outdoor ski mapping. For cycling, route planning for climbing, slope alerts, and sharp-turn warnings have been introduced. Meanwhile, health tracking updates include Physical Readiness scoring.

You can shop the Huawei Watch GT 7 Series, compatible with both iOS and Android, for £279.99 and the Huawei Watch GT 7 Pro for £379.99 now at the Huawei Store, Amazon, Currys, Argos and selected authorised retail partners.

Clear examples do more than decorate an explanation: they show how an idea behaves under recognizable conditions. In education and software documentation alike, strong illustrations begin with a defined goal, then reveal the steps, assumptions, and result without unnecessary detail. A practical test example should state the input, expected output, and boundary condition, because these elements show whether a rule works beyond the simplest case. Including a contrasting case also helps readers distinguish a valid application from a tempting but incorrect one, while concise notes explain why the outcomes differ. When examples are updated with current data and checked against the underlying rule, they remain useful across classrooms, product guides, and professional training.
