Motion Sickness has received global recognition at Campaign’s Agency of the Year awards in Singapore – taking out multiple agency wins, as well as individual awards for Founder/Executive Creative Director Sam Stuchbury.
Motion Sickness was named AU/NZ Boutique Agency of the Year for 2023, and came in second for New Zealand Creative Agency of the Year, while Stuchbury walked away with both Young Creative Person, and Young Business Person of the Year.
The agency also received Bronze awards for both AU/NZ Independent Agency, and Production Company of the Year.
Motion Sickness has scooped over 100 local and international awards in the past 18 months, with highlights including ‘You’re Cooked’ for Fire and Emergency NZ, Rep Your Suburb for Whānau Ora, as well as appointment as full service agency for retailer Big Save Furniture.
“It still feels a bit surreal to have our agency, and the work we’ve created, up against some of the biggest names in our industry,” says Alex McManus, Motion Sickness Partner/GM. “Being recognised as AU/NZ Boutique Agency of the Year, alongside the other big wins, just speaks volumes about our team’s mahi, and tells you all you need to know about this group of people.
“It’s always about the work first and foremost, but this recognition means a lot to us all. And of course, I’m stoked that my old mate Sam has been recognised for his individual achievements – it’s so well deserved, and I’m looking forward to giving him an awkward handshake when the physical awards land stateside.”
Motion Sickness has seen significant growth in both new clients, and the scale of campaigns over the last year – but the agency is hungry for more.
“I’m proud of our whole team, and thankful for all that they’ve given to Motion Sickness this past year,” says Stuchbury. “I think these wins are a testament to our approach; focusing on creating the best work for our clients, and letting the rest follow. Our vision for the future isn’t overly complicated. We just want to keep doing world-class work right here from New Zealand.”
The Campaign Awards, held annually in Singapore, recognise the best agencies from the Asia Pacific region.
