Must be wary of unions making extraordinary ‘demands’

[ad_1]

The Australian Columnist Jennifer Oriel says people have to be wary of unions making extraordinary “demands” at the jobs summit being held in Canberra.

“One of the problems we have is in the 1970s and the 1980s across the west, unions would impose multi-sector sectoral bargaining, and then use that to pressure other employers in smaller business and so forth to up their wages,” Ms Oriel told Sky News host Chris Smith

“The west recovered from that in a number of ways that aren’t available, we don’t have those economic leavers anymore”.
