The Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets just had the undisputed game of the season, and NBA fans were eating it up.
The Minnesota Timberwolves just usurped the Denver Nuggets 140-139 in what was the game of the season. The two sides went to two overtimes, and the game still came down to the wire.
There was a lot of speculation heading into the game about the nature of play. Michael Malone felt the Timberwolves would play harder against them than any other team.
And that’s exactly what happened. Even with two overtimes and Nikola Jokic dropping a 61-point triple-double, the Timberwolves clutched out the game in an exciting fashion.
Two mistakes from Russell Westbrook in the final seconds proved to be the death blow. But there is no denying that it made for very entertaining basketball.

NBA fans ecstatic over Timberwolves masterpiece
NBA fans were overjoyed after seeing the classic that played out in front of them. Kendrick Perkins was quick to comment by noting, “Timberwolves OWN the Nuggets. That’s 6 straight wins.”
Fellow NBA legend Greg Anthony shouted out both teams by saying, “Best game of the season!! Wow!! The NBA Playoffs are gonna be fire!”
One fan wanted to see the two teams go at it again, saying, “I pray we somehow get Timberwolves-Nuggets in the Playoffs again.” “Best regular season game I’ve ever seen,” said another fan.
“Man, every Nuggets-Wolves matchup is an instant classic,” wrote an excited Timberwolves supporter. A Denver fan wrote, “This makes me mad watching this again, the game was perfect until this moment. 99% amazing game, 1% terrible ending. Still a great game.”
One neutral NBA fan made a bold declaration, claiming, “The Minnesota Timberwolves mentally OWN the Denver Nuggets.” Another neutral party pleaded, “Please, basketball gods, give us a playoff series between these two teams.”
Clearly, this game had it all, with both teams giving it their absolute all to go and get a win. But in the end, the Timberwolves walked away the victors.

Where do both teams go from here?
With this win, the Timberwolves tied the Grizzlies, who currently sit sixth in the West, with a 44-32 record. Should the Timberwolves surpass them, they would have a guaranteed playoff spot.
The Grizzlies are in disarray and could stand to lose more games in the wake of their Taylor Jenkins being fired. But the Timberwolves must take advantage of the momentum they gained.
This loss will be disastrous for the Nuggets, who gave the Lakers an opportunity to surpass them and take the third seed.
The Lakers are one game behind the Nuggets, and a win over the Warriors on Thursday night could allow the Lakers to go third.
