New at SHIBUYA SKY: Step Into ‘Flowing Flowers,’ a Dreamlike World Above Shibuya

Date published: 22 May 2026

Planning a Tokyo trip this May or June? Save this SHIBUYA SKY guide before you go! If you thought this famous Shibuya observation deck was only about snapping a photo at the “Sky Edge,” summer 2026 gives you a whole new reason to visit again. Starting May 14, SHIBUYA SKY will host the limited-time event “Flowing Flowers | A Sky Corridor Where Flowers Bloom Among the Clouds.”

This year, the indoor observation corridor on the 46th floor transforms into an immersive fantasy space filled with artistic flowers, drifting clouds, and dramatic lighting effects. It’s more than just a beautiful display, it’s an experience designed to make you feel completely surrounded by the sky itself. At the same time, rooftop bar THE ROOF SHIBUYA SKY is now accepting reservations, offering special cocktails alongside sweeping Tokyo skyline views. Since SHIBUYA SKY tickets regularly sell out, advance booking is highly recommended. Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip to one of Tokyo’s most iconic viewpoints, this limited-time event is set to completely change the way you experience Tokyo’s skyline this summer.

From May 14 to June 30, 2026, the indoor observation corridor SKY GALLERY, located 229 meters above Shibuya, will be transformed into a surreal artistic landscape filled with flowers, clouds, and shifting light effects. The special exhibition, “Flowing Flowers,” invites visitors into a dreamlike space where the boundaries between sky, flowers, and weather seem to disappear.

Explore Five Different Skies: Flowers, Weather, and Tokyo Views Combined

The exhibition is divided into five themed zones, each inspired by a different type of cloud and weather pattern.

ZONE 1: Cotton Clouds — Soft lighting and oversized flower petals create a peaceful sunny-sky atmosphere that feels calm and uplifting.

Editor’s Photo Tip

  • Walking beneath the giant flowers feels magical, and this is the perfect place to experiment with low-angle shots looking upward. It beautifully captures the layers of flowers and sky for a totally different style of photo.

ZONE 2: Mackerel Sky — Layers of flowing fabric recreate the movement of wind, making it feel as though flower petals are dancing through the air around you.

Editor’s Photo Tip

  • The soft yellow flowers here look especially beautiful against the real blue sky outside the SHIBUYA SKY windows. Make sure to include both in your photos for an incredible color contrast.

ZONE 3: Thunderheads — Towering white structures rise dramatically upward, recreating the tense atmosphere before a summer storm.

Editor’s Photo Tip

  • This zone is filled with deep blue tones that create a mysterious, stormy atmosphere. It feels incredibly cinematic in person.

ZONE 4: Rain Clouds — Floating fabric and suspended transparent droplets create a peaceful, almost meditative feeling, like standing quietly in the rain.

Editor’s Photo Tip

  • Don’t forget to look up! Flowers aren’t just arranged on the floor here. The ceiling is filled with sparkling raindrop details that make the entire space feel beautifully immersive.

ZONE 5: Towering Clouds — The final area features shimmering rainbow-colored film and dramatic lighting effects, symbolizing flowers blooming after the rain clears.

Editor’s Photo Tip

  • The colorful flowers here glow like a rainbow after a storm. You can actually walk into the display area itself, making this one of the best photo spots in the entire exhibition.

Paradis Lounge on the 46th Floor: Limited-Time Floral Cocktails and Elegant Drinks

Before heading to the rooftop, make time to stop by Paradise Lounge on the 46th floor. To celebrate the “Flowing Flowers” event, the lounge is serving two limited-edition drinks that are just as visually stunning as the exhibition itself.

Created especially for the event, the “FLOWER CLOUD SPARKLE” cocktail is one of the bar’s biggest highlights. Sparkling soda is poured directly over cloud-like cotton candy, slowly revealing floating rose petals inside the shimmering drink. It’s as much a visual performance as it is a cocktail experience.

MUSIC BAR SELECTION: Music, Shibuya Culture, and Skyline Views Combined

This year, the original “ROOFMIX” music project has evolved into the new “MUSIC BAR SELECTION.” The first collaboration features music curated by PASS.TOKYO, a well-known music bar in Shibuya. Centered around jazz while blending multiple genres, the soundtrack adds an even more sophisticated atmosphere to the rooftop experience.
