9’ Cowboys can’t find the touch
Brooks gets pinged for an obstruction and the Cowboys have a chance to reply.
Drinkwater pokes a kick through on the last and Chester gets very close to putting it down but it beats him over the line.
4’ Koula nearly gets away
Koula blasts through some soft defence on his own 30 into the clear! He tries to step Drinkwater but the fullback brings him down and forces an error.
And away we go!
North Queensland kick us off, running right to left.
Tips
I like North Queensland for this one, I reckon they’ll have a few too many points in them. Let’s go Cowboys by 16 with Tom Dearden to score the first try.
What’s next for Scott Drinkwater?
The Cowboys fullback is a man in demand at the moment. North Queensland have given him permission to negotiate with other clubs with the Dragons and Bears reportedly very keen.
I think he’d be a great fit for both – Drinkwater has his detractors but his attacking output is undeniable, as he showed with his man of the match performance against the Broncos last week.
Stuart slams set restart rule
Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has come out very strongly against the NRL’s ramped-up set restart rule and I must say, I think he makes some very good points. Will it be enough to turn the tide at league office? Maybe not, but some very powerful people are in lockstep against the new tweaks.
Final teams: Cowboys vs Sea Eagles
Manly are 1-19 as named on Tuesday, just one change for North Queensland with Rob Derby dropping off the end of the bench and Harrison Edwards coming in.
Hello and welcome to the ABC’s NRL live blog
Hey everyone, my name is Nick Campton and I’m currently of the good ship NRL blog.
I’ll steer you through every bit of tonight’s match between North Queensland and Manly, which promises to be a beauty.
The Cows have won four in a row, Sea Eagles are two from two under Kieran Foran, should be a fun one.
Everybody’s saying Thursday’s the weekend so let’s have some fun out there.
