Orlando Pirates are seriously thought to be ramping up their transfer plans ahead of the next season, with more players believed to be on the verge of signing.

Pirates have already signed three players if media reports are to be believed, and that number could go up to eight, very soon.

So far, Pirates are thought to have already signed TS Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi, All Stars midfielder Siphelo Baloni with Marumo Gallants winger Katlego Otladisa believed to be on the verge of being signed by the Soweto giants as well.

Pirates are also clearly on a mission to add strength and depth to their defence, in time for their foray into the CAF Champions League next season. Already Pirates have been linked with several defenders including the liked of Riaan Hanamub of AmaZulu for their left back ranks, while they have also been linked with a whole host of centre backs. That would make sense, seeing as though the club heavily relied on the likes Nkosinathi Sibisi and Tapelo Xoki to man the heart of their defence last season.

Pirates have been linked with a quite a few options for the centre back spot, including Olivier Toure of the recently relegated Marumo Gallants. The two clubs will have to significantly negotiate a transfer fee for the player, however, as at the last time of asking, Gallants were thought to value him at R10 million.

Last week, it was revealed by this publication that Pirates have already opened transfer talks to sign one of their targets in Arrows centre back Sicelo Hlatshwayo. Now, in a shock turn of events, it is now thought that the Soweto giants are set to sign Mamelodi Sundowns centre back Mosa Lebusa according to Kickoff.com

A source then also told the same website that they should be expecting two former Sundowns players to be announced at the same time. Hinting at Lebusa being joined by Andile Jali.

“Pirates are going to make announcements about two big-name players that will be joining the team in the new season, This includes a defender and midfielder that played for Mamelodi Sundowns,”said the source.

If these news are anything to go by, it looks as if Pirates a certainly building up a formidable squad ahead of next season.
