The U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg sent a letter to all the major airlines detailing changes which are on the horizon with respect to protecting the flying public from piss-poor-management by the airline companies. While Buttigieg’s letter was polite, it was also direct and to the point on how the Department of Transportation (DOT) was unhappy with the manner in which the consumer is being treated by this sector of the aviation industry.
On or before 02 September, the DOT will be publishing a new webpage where consumers will be able to visit, select their circumstance (delayed, canceled flight, bumped, etc.) and know immediately what their entitlement is from the airline.
