Ulberg Knocks Out Prochazka After ACL Injury to Win the Title

UFC 327 may already have produced the best combat sports event of 2026, with the non-stop action that unfolded in Miami.

Plenty of impressive performances and finishes were witnessed by fans at the Kaseya Center and viewers at home as the Octagon displayed three knockouts, three submissions and a fight of the year contender.

A few underdogs picked up key victories, which certainly boosted their profile in the UFC, giving the crowd a reason to make some noise.

Here are all the results from a wild night in Florida with details behind the shocking headliner and co-main event.

Black Jag becomes new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion

After Alex Pereira vacated the 205-pound title in his quest to become a three-division UFC Champion, two top contenders aimed to make the most of a golden opportunity.

Jiri Prochazka earned back-to-back knockout wins over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr, while being in a familiar position as ‘BJP’ prepared for his fourth title fight.

Carlos Ulberg aimed to extend his win streak to 10 as the New Zealander had a lot of triumphant momentum heading into his first UFC title shot.

Both strikers are deadly knockout artists, so it was bound to be the case that the scheduled five-round war would not see the judges’ scorecards.

The light heavyweight action did not last past the second round, as a stoppage occurred in round one, stunning the MMA community.

During the contest, ‘Black Jag’ had blown his knee following an awkward slip, which Prochazka recognised and could be seen slightly sympathising due to his facial expressions.

With just over a minute left in the first round, Ulberg connected a left hook, which knocked down the Czech mixed martial artist, before a vicious ground and pound ended the battle, leaving everyone in amazement.

The 35-year-old becomes the new King of the Light Heavyweights, but it will be unclear for how long he has to vacate due to the ACL injury he suffered, which requires almost a year to recover from.

Costa pulls off an upset victory

A lot of interest was placed on the co-headliner as an undefeated Russian tried to strengthen their place in title contention against a well-known middleweight.

Azamat Murzakanov made a clear statement at UFC 321 when he knocked out Aleksandr Rakic in the first round, gradually preparing for a potential title shot.

Paulo Costa made the decision to move up to light heavyweight for his bout in Miami, despite winning his last fight by unanimous decision against Roman Kopylov at UFC 318.

Regardless of the triumphant fighter, it would be beneficial for both men, as the possibility of a light heavyweight title shot would increase significantly depending on the performance.

In round one, the Brazilian was landing more shots, especially kicks, which were mostly aimed at the body of the number six contender.

Murzakanov showed more aggression in the second round as he out-landed ‘Borrachinha’, as well as getting a takedown within those five minutes.

However, by the third round, the Russian seemed tired from taking so many body strikes, and Costa punished him until a brutal head kick knocked the 37-year-old down, prompting the referee to stop the bout.

A hugely credible victory for Costa, who will enter the light heavyweight rankings and could just be one fight away from a second chance at UFC gold.

Other Moments from UFC 327

Curtis Blaydes and Josh Hokit delivered what may be the best fight of 2026 so far, as a three-round war had the fans cheering from start to finish.

The undefeated American won by unanimous decision and will enter the rankings, but, as no surprise, both men were given a Fight of the Night bonus.

Dominick Reyes returned to the win column after going the distance with Johnny Walker to win by split decision in a battle that had far less activity compared to Blaydes vs Hokit.

Cub Swanson retired on a high note as he produced a stunning first-round knockout win over Nate Landwehr, as the 42-year-old truly had a happy ending to his MMA career.

Aaron Pico picked up his first win in the UFC as his superb boxing combinations troubled Patricio Pitbull, which led to the American winning by unanimous decision and entering the featherweight rankings.

Kevin Holland claimed redemption at the Kaseya Center as he picked up a unanimous decision victory over Randy Brown in what was his first fight of 2026.

Mateusz Gamrot bounced back to defeat Esteban Ribovics as he stopped the Argentinian with a second-round Arm Triangle, his first submission win since July 2021.

Tatiana Suarez made a statement to re-enter the strawweight title conversation after dominating Loopy Godinez to win by submission with a Rear-Naked Choke in the second round.

Chris Padilla walked out of the Octagon as a winner, but the UFC announced the judges’ scorecards incorrectly: he ended up with a majority draw instead of a majority decision against Marquel Mederos.

Vicente Luque thrived on his UFC middleweight debut with a first-round D’Arce Choke submission victory against Kelvin Gastelum, breaking his two-fight losing streak.

Charles Radtke opened up the event with a comfortable unanimous decision win over Francisco Prado as his grappling skills paid off for three rounds.
