Scrolling X last night after the League Cup final, and the feed was full of Chelsea fans mocking and laughing at Arsenal for losing against Manchester City. There was memes, pictures, and comments everywhere!
Whilst I was also pleased to see Arsenal lose this trophy opportunity and get beaten, I was thinking to myself, ‘who are we to be laughing so hard at Arsenal right now?’
They are comfortably top of the Premier League and look destined to win it, whilst also being one of the favourites to go all the way in the Champions League. They are also still in the FA Cup, and got to the final of the League Cup. Basically, they’re doing a hell of a lot better than us this season.
I’m all for bantering other teams and enjoying watching our rivals get beaten, ALL for that. And maybe I’m just too old and grumpy these days? But for me, I don’t think we are in any position right now to be mocking Arsenal for losing a FINAL, with the position we are in as a club.
Tottenham however, all for that. Mock the heck out of them. They’re a point off relegation and we’re a point off the Champions League spots, we are more than in a good position to be mocking them losers!
I totally get the Kepa stuff by the way, that s**t WAS funny!
But I just don’t feel comfortable making too much fun of Arsenal right now as it will come back and bite us on the butt when they win the league this season, which they should, and maybe even the UCL and FA Cup. It’s reality. Arsenal fans will be finding all those posts I saw last night, I guarantee you that. Those people have given them ammo for their celebrations. Sigh.
