The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area calls for a slight chance of a stray thunderstorm across East and North Bay early Tuesday morning. Daytime highs are expected in the 60s along the coast, in the mid 70s to low 80s around the bay and reaching the mid 80s inland. Overnight lows are expected in the upper 50s.
Temperatures are expected to remain at normal levels through the week before heating up again Friday inland. An air quality advisory is in effect through Wednesday in the Bay Area caused by smoke from the Oak Fire near Yosemite in Mariposa County, although any smoke is expected to remain well above populated areas. As of 8:07 p.m. Monday, Cal Fire reported the Oak Fire had charred 17,241 acres in Mariposa County and was 16 percent contained.
