Who scored the first try in State of Origin Game 3?

Valentine Holmes scored the opening try for Queensland against New South Wales in the State of Origin decider in Brisbane.

Holmes scored in the 13th minute after sustained pressure from the home side forcing a dropout with some superb defence.

Back-to-back sets proved too much for the Blues and Holmes broke through the wall close to the line after a nice ball from debutant Tom Dearden.

Queensland thought they’d scored the opener earlier on when Josh Papalii crossed but it was ruled that the ball had gone forward in the previous play.

It was an intense start for both teams with Cameron Murray, Selwyn Cobbo and Lindsay Collins all suffering concussions inside the opening five minutes.
