Youngster Emmanuel Quarshie nets maiden goal as Radnik Surdulica claim season’s first win

Young Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Quarshie scored his first-ever goal for Radnik Surdulica on Saturday, helping his side secure their maiden victory of the 2026-27 Serbian Super Liga campaign with a win over Macva Sabac.

The Round 5 fixture, played at the EFBET Stadium in Surdulica, saw the hosts take control early through veteran midfielder Aleksandar Pejovic, who broke the deadlock after 25 minutes to give Radnik the lead going into the break.

Quarshie then made his mark two minutes into the second half, doubling his side’s advantage after being set up by fellow Ghanaian Sadick Abubakar.

The 19-year-old’s composed finish proved to be the eventual matchwinner and marked a significant personal milestone in his young career at the club.

Macva pulled a goal back late in the match through forward Luka Pejovic, who found the net in the closing moments, but the effort was not enough to deny Radnik their first three points of the season.

Ghanaian youngster Adams Hamadu remained an unused substitute for the visiting side throughout the encounter.

Quarshie’s goal capped an impressive display from Radnik’s Ghanaian contingent, with both he and Abubakar playing pivotal roles in securing the result.

The forward joined Radnik Surdulica last season from Ghanaian lower-tier club Rospak FC, and Saturday’s strike will serve as a confidence boost as he continues to settle into European football.
