Usually, the best NBA teams have a balance of both. That requires them to field a balanced roster. A team can afford to play a one-way player, but they’ll have to compensate for their shortcomings elsewhere.
We’re not saying Ben Simmons is a one-way player. His passing ability does provide offensive value. However, his inability to shoot does make him limited on that end of the floor.
