An 18-year-old woman has been arrested and charged following a suspected arson in Christchurch this morning.
Police were called to a house on fire at Bidwell Place in the suburb of Hillmorton just before 9am.
One person was rescued from inside the single-storey property, which was well alight when fire crews arrived.
A police spokesperson said the young woman was arrested and charged with arson.
It comes after reports of another suspicious fire yesterday in Sydenham, which is also under investigation.
