Croatia (Brussels Morning Newspaper) – If you are planning to live as an expatriate, Croatia is not the first country that comes to your mind. This European country is located near the Adriatic Sea and is worth a look. If you want to enjoy the luxury of European beaches without the overload of crowds, then this is the perfect place for you. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations along the Mediterranean.

If you are looking for a cost-effective and safe place to live in Croatia, then we will help you to find the perfect place for you.

5 Best Places To Live In Croatia

Not many people are familiar with Croatia and a lot of research is needed to find the best place to live there. Here is a little guide on the five best places to live in Croatia.

1.Split

Split is one of the best places to live in Croatia because of its beautiful scenery and friendly population. It is located in southern Croatia and has everything including mountains, beaches, parks, and more. You will see flocks of tourists in the area during the high season in July and August.

The weather’s colder and wetter, in the winter and you might not spot many people outdoors. If you like places with a quiet environment, then this is the perfect place for you. Split is home to Marjan Park, which is as large as New York City’s Central Park.

2. Zagreb

The capital of Croatia Zagreb is one of the biggest cities. It has a population of only 800,000 and is considered to be one of the most populated cities in the world. If you want to enjoy the city feel, then Zagreb is the perfect place to be.

Zagreb is a blend of modernity and tradition. There is a lot of difference between the old city and the rest of the city. The city center has a lot of Hungarian influence and is surrounded by art-nouveau architecture.

You will find some wide boulevards and can enjoy the architecture reminiscent of the Soviet Union. The overall cost of living is about 15 percent lower than what you’ll find in New York City. If you are looking for a place with cheap rent, then Zagreb is 81 percent cheaper than that New York City.

3. Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is located in the southernmost part of Croatia. It has become popular over the last decade because it has an association with the popular hit show “Game of Thrones.” Dubrovnik is small but it has beautiful sights like the Adriatic Sea.

You will get to meet a warm, seaside community with gorgeous scenery. The pace of life is slow in the city and you will enjoy a lovely environment all over the city.

Dubrovnik is a vibrant tapestry of history and attracts a lot of foreigners. Foreigners can learn a lot about the entire area and will be bound to pay attention to Dubrovnik’s culture and history.

Everything moves slowly in Dubrovnik and it might take a little time to adjust to the city if you come from a bustling city like New York.

4. Hvar

If you want to live on an island, Hvar is the perfect place for you to live in Croatia. The city has a mild climate and is equipped with seaside neighborhoods. You are only a few miles from the sea if you are living in the city center. If you love ancient caves, old castles, and some fascinating ruins then you have got a lot to explore in the city.
