Freight and Trade Alliance Director Paul Zahai says importers have been “pretty well prepared” for China’s COVID crisis posing a risk to Australia’s supply chain.
Mr Zahai said importers were prepared for the event due to the “disruption” the sector has experienced over the past two years.
“We’ve traditionally been very reliant on ‘just-in-time’ inventory, holding minimal stock onshore but the issues we’ve had with international shipping and the like has forced a lot of importers to change their patterns,” Mr Zalai told Sky News Australia.
