Palermo have confirmed that Moses Odjer’s eye injury is not as bad as first thought, with the Ghanaian set to return to training much quicker than expected.
The 25-yea-old was taken off prematurely during the side’s match against Juve Stabia on at the weekend after a ball hit his face and caused him to lose his sight momentarily.
The Ghanaian midfielder has undergone further test and results shown he did not suffer any serious consequences.
Palermo has released a statement on the situation of the midfielder to ally the fears of their supporters saying he suffered a minor traumatic phenomenon.
“During last night’s match against Juve Stabia at Renzo Barbera the footballer Moses Odjer suffered a bulbar trauma to the right eye, with retinal edema. The same evening the player was accompanied by Doctor Giuseppe Puleo to the ophthalmology department of the Civic Hospital of Palermo, where he was immediately examined by Doctor Giovanni Mangano. excluding a possible detachment of the retina,”
“Once the specific therapy was started, Odjer was checked again this morning, always in the same department of the Civic Hospital, where Dr. Mangano gave the go-ahead for the immediate resumption of thecompetitive activity, albeit with related medical support therapy.”
Palermo recorded a 3-1 win over Juve Stabia in the Serie C on Saturday.
