Sometimes, the media runs with a narrative that isn’t fair. This can be especially true in the NBA.
For example, look at the Oklahoma City Thunder. They’ve been the poster boys for tanking across NBA outlets for some time. They never deserved to be.
The Thunder have never been the only tanking team. Realistically, they’ve simply drawn attention to the practice by acquiring so many draft picks.
That was never anything short of excellent general management.
With that said, something funny has happened this season. Quietly, the Thunder are having a quality season. At 18-23, they’ve been surprisingly competitive this season.
Could they make a win-now move with the Atlanta Hawks?
