Missing Pa. mother Jennifer Brown found dead near Philadelphia

A Pennsylvania woman who’d been missing since Jan. 3 was found dead Wednesday outside of Philadelphia.

The remains of Jennifer Brown, 43, were discovered behind an industrial complex in Royersford, about 25 miles northwest of downtown Philadelphia, local ABC affiliate WPVI reported.

“Unfortunately I have to announce that we have found Jennifer Brown, who we have been looking for, and she is dead,” Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said at a press conference.

Brown was reported missing after she didn’t pick up her 8-year-old son from a school bus stop on Jan. 4. Steele said Wednesday that “by all accounts, she would’ve never left him unattended and unsupervised.”

Brown was last seen at her home in Limerick Township, less than 5 miles north of where her body was found. Cops said a “friend and business associate” had stopped by the home.

Outside the home, Brown’s car was parked with her keys, wallet, handbag and work cellphone inside, according to investigators.

Her personnel cellphone was missing, but had “not been communicating” with local cell towers since the morning of Jan. 4, police said.

Steele did not publicly speculate on Brown’s cause of death, and he would not say if investigators had identified any suspects in the case.
