Nairobi Family Inconsolable as Body of Missing Son is Found Dumped in Septic Tank

• Jerome Christiano’s mother Maureen Auma stated that the 7-year-old was reportedly seen talking to a stranger before disappearing
• Auma said she immediately left work and went to report her son missing when the househelp notified her of the disappearance
• She expressed he skepticism following the postmortem report that declared Jerome died due to drowning, questioning why he bled

A family in Nairobi has been thrown into mourning following the discovery of their 7-year-old son, Jerome Christiano’s lifeless body.

The family based in Nairobi’s Chokaa area has called on the relevant authorities to probe his death after he left home on Thursday, January 19 only to be found dead in a septic tank near their house after three days of searching.

Maureen Auma, Jerome’s mother disclosed that her househelp informed her that the Grade 3 pupil had not returned home since he went out to play.

She added that she reported and the police initiated a search that did not bear fruits until on Sunday, January 22 when the body was discovered.

“Mfanyikazi alinipigia simu kitu kama saa moja hivi na dakika kama kumi ati Mama Jerome, Jerome vile alienda kucheza hajarudi ni kama amepotea sasa vile niliskia hiyo story nilitoka job mbio nikaenda sikufika kwa nyumba nikaenda nikaripoti mtoto amepotea na tukaanza kumtafuta,” Auma said.

Auma stated that they were able to identify Jerome’s body through various birth marks adding that she suspected foul play in his death despite the postmortem examination revealed the cause of death as drowning.

“Alikuwa na damu na mtu amekufa kwa huwezi kuwa na damu,” she narrated.

Talking to a stranger

Auma disclosed that her son was last seen talking to a stranger who she suspected may have had a hand in her son’s tragic death.

“Msichana wa kazi aliniambia kuna jirani amemwambia kuna kijana mwengine aliongea na Jerome na huyo kijana venye aliongea na jirani alikuwa anamuliza jina yake, class yuko akaenda classes tena akarudi na hatujui kutoka hapo vile mtoto alienda,” she revealed.

Kayole Deputy Sub-County Commander Jackson Sang confirmed the incident, adding that detectives had taken up the case.

Man found dead in nurse’s house

In another shocking news, a male teacher from Nyamira county who disappeared was found dead in a nurse’s house.

Ezekiel Nkeere Gitangwa’s wife reported to the police that he was missing on Friday, December 30, 2022, the same day he was last seen alive.

The 47-year-old’s body was reportedly found covered with a carpet and hidden in a room used for keeping poultry animals.
