The man once known as ‘Marky Mark’ has had to cop a whopping Marky ‘Markdown’.
Hollywood mega star Mark Wahlberg has finally offloaded his Beverly Hills mansion for $55m (AU$79.7m) last week — a huge $32.5m (AU$47.1m) less than its initial listing of $87.5m (AU$116m) in April 2022.
The enormous 2.5ha estate located in the exclusive North Beverly Park gated community has a sprawling 2,830 sqm home that features 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms.

The ‘Shooter’ and ‘Ted’ star took the property off the market in October due to climbing interest rates, before relisting it in November at $79.5m.
The buyer, who has not been identified publicly, is represented by Compass’ Ginger Glass, according to The Post.
However, the 51-year old is still making a massive profit on the property.
Wahlberg originally purchased the land in 2009 for just $8.25m (AU$11m), putting in five years of extensive renovation works to turn it into a Mediterranean-style manor with his wife, Rhea Durham.
The home includes a fitness centre, where the F45 spokesman has posted many of his intense workout routines to social media, a tennis court, home theatre, manicured gardens, five-hole golf course, skate park; and a resort-like grotto pool.
Designed by architect Richard Landry, who created homes for Sylvester Stallone, Tom Brady and other celebrities, the colossal mansion also boasts a two-storey entryway along with a double-storey wood-panelled library, staff quarters, a wine/cigar cellar and a tasting/smoking lounge.
Since the neighbourhood’s development in the late 1980s, Beverly Park has been the gated community of choice for some of Hollywood’s top earners.

Current residents include stars such as Sofia Vergara, Justin Bieber, Denzel Washington, Rod Stewart, Samuel L. Jackson, Eddie Murphy, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Magic Johnson.
The sale follows Wahlberg’s announcement that he has left California in the dust for Nevada.
“I want to be able to work from home,” the actor said on an episode of “The Talk” last year. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.”
“So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us,” he added.
The ‘Lone Survivor’ actor has four children with Durham: Ella, 19; Michael, 16; Brendan, 14; and Grace, 13.
“We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s a lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future,” Wahlberg said of Nevada.
His new digs in the Las Vegas area is a $15.6m 2.5-acre plot where he has plans to create a “state-of-the-art studio,” on the property.
He also has plans to build a factory for his sports apparel company Municipal, which he co-founded in 2019. .
